Film photography preserves the way we remember the world. The cameras that created those images are mechanical records of history, craftsmanship, and human experience.

As more repair knowledge disappears and fewer technicians remain in the industry, preserving these tools and the skills required to maintain them becomes increasingly important.

we believe the future of film photography depends not only on preserving cameras themselves, but on supporting the next generation of photographers, artists, collectors, and technicians who continue to keep the medium alive. Whether it’s a well-loved Nikon F, a family Rolleiflex, or a camera rediscovered after years in storage, our goal is to carefully restore and preserve these tools so they can continue creating photographs and memories for decades to come.

Based in Massachusetts, we offer camera repair, film processing, scanning, and photographic equipment sales for photographers, collectors, artists, and working professionals alike.

  • Sarah is an incredibly talented and focused repair technician. From the get go, she provided excellent communication and shared information with me at every step in the process with lots of documentation to back it up. When my camera proved to be a more difficult repair than originally quoted due to some extensive damage, she presented me with options and made sure I was well educated on the pros and cons of each choice. She never pressured me to spend more money and gave me plenty of breathing room to make my decisions. No matter what situation my camera threw at her, it was handled professionally. My Yashica 635 went from dinged up eBay find to practically factory original! It looks and feels great and will no doubt serve me well for many years to come. Sarah has earned my future business and trusting her with my camera is one of the best investments I've ever made

  • Sarah is kind, knowledgeable, and generous with her time as she helped me identify a vintage Rolleiflex camera I recently uncovered. In just a few messages, it was obvious she has deep expertise and a genuine passion for these cameras and the photography community as a whole. What stood out most was her honesty. Rather than pushing unnecessary repair work, she gave thoughtful and transparent advice about the realities of servicing my specific model, along with practical guidance on value, collectibility, and selling options. That level of integrity is rare and deeply appreciated. If you're looking for someone who truly knows Rolleiflex cameras and treats people with kindness and professionalism, I would absolutely recommend Sarah with SDavis Photo & Repair!

  • Sarah is absolutely the best in the game. I’ve now sent two cameras to her and both come back looking, feeling and operating better than I could have imagined. Sarah kept me informed through the entire process, sending videos and photos during the CLA and repair process explaining troubled areas and what she was going to do to fix them. This is where I’ll continue to send my cameras.

  • Sarah CLA’d my Rolleiflex 2.8 and it genuinely feels like a new camera. The advance is smooth, the focus is buttery, and everything sounds and operates exactly how you imagine a perfectly serviced Rolleiflex should. You can tell she truly understands these cameras and cares about preserving them properly. It’s rare to find someone so young with both the technical skill and respect for the craft. I wouldn’t trust my cameras with anyone else.

    Daniel | Rolleiflex 2.8C

  • Sarah did an amazing job at repairing my Yashica-Mat, two repair shops in Australia had told me it was beyond repair, so I was a little nervous sending my baby overseas but I’m so glad I did. The camera is so clean and works perfectly! I am very happy with her work.

    Chloe | Yashica MAT 124G

  • Sarah worked on my Nikon F3 and somehow got it back to true factory standards. She even got the tiny red viewfinder illuminator button working again, which never works! The meter and auto exposure are dead accurate now, the shutter sounds incredible, and the whole camera feels tighter and smoother in every way. She even managed to brighten the white F3 logo and the brand and serial number markings on the back! What impressed me most was her attention to detail. It feels like the camera was genuinely cared for and brought back to life by someone who really knows what they’re doing. I’ve owned and used F3s for years and this is easily the nicest one I’ve handled.

    Brian | Nikon F3

  • When the lens came back, I was blown away. The shutter feels absolutely perfect now. Before servicing it was so sluggish, sometimes the blades wouldn’t even open, but after getting it back and shooting a few frames with it, it feels really precise and I am much more confident in the performance of the lens. The aperture movement is smooth, the glass is beautiful.. I am truly amazed. I will definitely be coming back soon!

Kayla | Fujinon 105mm 5.6 large format shutter

How It Works
  • Put in a request for an estimate at the top of the page. This will send an email to me, and I will get back to you with prices and turnaround times.

  • After contacting me and completing the service contract and intake form, you will ship your camera to the address provided or drop it off at the shop. Package the camera securely so it cannot move inside the box, use sufficient padding to protect the equipment, send the tracking number after shipping and consider insuring the package for the full replacement value.

Clients are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the repair shop.

  • After your equipment arrives, I perform a full diagnostic inspection of the camera.

You will receive: a diagnostic report explaining the issues, a description of the recommended repairs, and an itemized estimate covering parts, labor, and return shipping

This process ensures you understand exactly what work your camera needs before repairs begin.

The estimate must be approved, and parts and materials paid for before the repair can start

  • Let the repair commence! As the repair progresses, you will receive updates with photos. If I find anything, additional costs are approved by the customer.

Repair timelines vary depending on the camera and the work required.

Vintage camera restoration can take anywhere from two weeks to a few months, and in some, rare cases six months or longer, depending on parts availability, repair complexity, current workload, additional issues discovered during service.

  • Once everything is buttoned up, the camera gets a final external detailing and it is shipped back to the customer. They are given the opportunity to write a review, and always welcomed back for future repairs.
