Film photography preserves the way we remember the world. The cameras that created those images are mechanical records of history, craftsmanship, and human experience.
As more repair knowledge disappears and fewer technicians remain in the industry, preserving these tools and the skills required to maintain them becomes increasingly important.
we believe the future of film photography depends not only on preserving cameras themselves, but on supporting the next generation of photographers, artists, collectors, and technicians who continue to keep the medium alive. Whether it’s a well-loved Nikon F, a family Rolleiflex, or a camera rediscovered after years in storage, our goal is to carefully restore and preserve these tools so they can continue creating photographs and memories for decades to come.
Based in Massachusetts, we offer camera repair, film processing, scanning, and photographic equipment sales for photographers, collectors, artists, and working professionals alike.
How It Works-
Put in a request for an estimate at the top of the page. This will send an email to me, and I will get back to you with prices and turnaround times.
-
After contacting me and completing the service contract and intake form, you will ship your camera to the address provided or drop it off at the shop. Package the camera securely so it cannot move inside the box, use sufficient padding to protect the equipment, send the tracking number after shipping and consider insuring the package for the full replacement value.
Clients are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the repair shop.
-
After your equipment arrives, I perform a full diagnostic inspection of the camera.
You will receive: a diagnostic report explaining the issues, a description of the recommended repairs, and an itemized estimate covering parts, labor, and return shipping
This process ensures you understand exactly what work your camera needs before repairs begin.
The estimate must be approved, and parts and materials paid for before the repair can start
-
Let the repair commence! As the repair progresses, you will receive updates with photos. If I find anything, additional costs are approved by the customer.
Repair timelines vary depending on the camera and the work required.
Vintage camera restoration can take anywhere from two weeks to a few months, and in some, rare cases six months or longer, depending on parts availability, repair complexity, current workload, additional issues discovered during service.
-
Once everything is buttoned up, the camera gets a final external detailing and it is shipped back to the customer. They are given the opportunity to write a review, and always welcomed back for future repairs.
